Eleven people of a family were found hanging in Delhi’s Burari area on Sunday. While the police pointed towards “occult” angle behind the mysterious deaths, relatives of the family alleged foul play and demanded CBI inquiry.
On Sunday, 11 members of Burari’s Bhatia family – 77-year-old Narayan Devi, her son Lalit and Bhavnesh their families and children including two 15-year-old boys; Narayan Devi's daughter and granddaughter Priyanka, were found dead inside their house.
While Narayani Devi was found lying in the house, 10 others were found hanging with their eyes and mouth wrapped and hands tied behind their back.
Meanwhile, News Nation has tracked down the last person who met and interacted with the Bhatia family members. A young boy named Rishi, in his early 20’s, was the delivery boy who delivered food to the family.
Rishi told News Nation that the family had ordered 20 roties and the order was taken by one of the girls of the family while his father made the payment.

When asked if he noticed something wrong with the family, the delivery boy said that it was a usual normal delivery for him and he didn’t notice any kind of suspicious behaviour.
However, the number of roties ordered by the family of 11 members was quite less given the fact that four of them were males. A normal male would eat around 4 and more roties and a girl two or more. It means some of the family members either skipped their dinner or ate less food.
Handwritten notes recovered by the police from their house revealed that Narayan Devi’s youngest son Lalit Bhatia had been hallucinating about his father who died 10 years ago.
Lalit, who had taken a vow of silence and started speaking recently had allegedly told the family that his father, Gopaldas, had possessed him. He also reportedly told the family that his father was giving me the directions to live a better life.
One of the entries in the diary read that his father had told him about an impending apocalypse. It was also revealed in the diary that Lalit thought his father’s soul would save him and others.
