Farishte Scheme Will Be Extended To Riot Affected People In Both Private And Govt Hospitals: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced a slew of measures for the riot affected people in the violence hit Northeast region. During his press briefing, Kejriwal said that the 'Farishte' scheme, which provides free-of-cost medical treatment, will be extended to all riot affected victims. "Under Delhi Government's 'Farishte' scheme of free-of-cost medical treatment at any private hospital, those affected in this violence can get medical treatment. Compensation of Rs 20 lakhs each to families of those who have died," Kejriwal said. 

"Under Delhi Government's 'Farishte' scheme of free-of-cost medical treatment at any private hospital, those affected in this violence can get medical treatment. Compensation of Rs 10 lakhs each to families of those who have died," he added. Kejriwal also announced that his government will set up special camps for people to get documents burnt during arson, violence.

When asked about AAP councillor Tahir Hussain involvement in the violence, Delhi CM said that no rioter from whichever party they belong should be spared. "Police should take stern action against the rioters. Those who have created arson, violence on the street of Northeast Delhi should be sent behind bars," Arvind Kejriwal said. " If those involved in riots are found to be from AAP, double punishment should be given," he added.
