A total of nine bodies have been retrieved by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams after an under-construction building collapsed in Greater Noida’s Shah Beri village on Tuesday evening.
Several others are feared to be trapped under the debris and the rescue operation is currently going on.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the kin of those dead and Rs 50,000 each to those injured in the incident.
Four people have been arrested in connection to the incident and a probe has been ordered.

“4 people have been arrested and an investigation is underway. Both criminal and administrative aspects will be investigated. I've set up a magisterial inquiry under ADM executive and have given them time of 15 days,†said BN Singh, District Magistrate.

Meanwhile, NDRF and local police are engaged in the rescue and relief operation with several JCB machines deployed to remove the debris.
The building is reported to have collapsed at around 08:45 pm on Tuesday night.
