Google is a great search engine, and it was proved yet again when police reached the home of an alleged mobile snatcher, thanks to the Google image saving feature.
Actually, on November 2, the culprit snatched the mobile phone from a lady-teacher who teaches in a school in Darya Ganj, Central Delhi and fled. After committing the crime he clicked a selfie, unaware of the fact that his selfie is getting saved on Google Drive.
The teacher lodged a complaint with the police at the Darya Ganj Police Station following which a police team swung into action and using the location locator reached right to the doorsteps of the snatcher who somehow managed to escape but left the mobile phone behind.
Initially, the teacher was hesitant to approach the police but next day when she logged into her Gmail account she was shocked to see a selfie. On taking a closer look she realised that the man in the selfie is none other than the man who snatched her phone.
The selfie which was saved in the Google Drive was carrying the date, time and location. Then she approached the police and told them the entire story.
The police have recovered the mobile phone and have registered a case and are on the trail of the accused.
