Strengthening security in the national capital ahead of the Independence Day on August 15, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said parking at Delhi Metro stations will not be allowed from Monday till August 15.

The temporary ban on parking at Delhi Metro stations is effective from 6 am Monday, DMRC said in a statement.

"Parking facilities will not be available at the Delhi Metro stations from 6 am on August 14, 2018, till 2 pm  August 15, 2018, in view of the security measures adopted on the occasion of Independence Day," DMRC said.

Some gates at Lal Quila, ITO, Delhi Gate and Jama Masjid will remain close for security reasons, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in the release.

Train services between Indraprastha and Mandi House will remain suspended when the Prime Minister’s convoy passes through Tilak Marg on August 15.

In the event of any untoward incident, commuters can dial the new Metro helpline number launched on August 10. The Central Industrial Security Force on Friday launched a new electronic surveillance control room and security helpline number -- 155655 -- for Delhi Metro commuters.

Efforts are on to strengthen security arrangement in Delhi to prevent any terror attack or untoward incident in view of the Independence Day celebration on August 15.
