Services on the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro were on Friday morning disrupted after an injured peacock appeared on the tracks of Model Town Metro station.

The injured peacock came on tracks at 9:45 disrupting the metro services for about half an hour. The metro services, however, resumed after the peacock was handed over safely to Wildlife SOS officials, according to a DMRC statement.

“A peacock appeared on the tracks at the Model Town Metro station at 9.45 a.m. on Friday. The bird was safely handed over at 10.18 a.m. to Wildlife SOS officials," DMRC Executive Director for Corporate Communications Anuj Dayal said in a statement.

"Services on the stretch normalised at 10.18 a.m," Dayal added in the statement.
