New Delhi:

Several BJP leaders on Friday shared a video showing people purportedly raising 'Jinnah wali Azadi' slogan during an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protest at the Shaheen Bagh. The video was first tweeted by Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga. The controversial video shows the protesters raising slogans like 'Gandhi wali Azadi', 'Nehru wali Azadi', etc. However, they can also be heard chanting 'Jinnah wali Azadi' in the video.

Bagga posted the video with caption: "…This is not Protest against Modi, This is Protest against India".

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra too tweeted the video, saying: "They want ‘Jinnah wali Azadi’. Friends, has anything left to speak now? Is there any need left to debate on whether they are with India or not? The tragic part is with whom to fight? With outsiders or those who are our own?"

Congress has raised concerns over the authenticity of the video. Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor said: "We have unfortunately seen that some people associated with the ruling party have no compunctions about even issuing videos whose authenticity has been severely doubted."

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed a plea seeking directions for removal of protesters from Shaheen Bagh in order to clear road blockages that are causing traffic jams at the DND route. The bridge linking Noida with Delhi's Kalindi Kund has been closed since the protests started.
