Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi government is paying special attention to the public transport system in Delhi. They are working to improve bus travel for Delhi residents. All information related to bus travel will be made available to passengers on their mobiles. The attempt is also to come up with ways of reducing vehicular pollution and make Delhi's transportation system world class.

Collaboration with IIIT Delhi

An agreement has been signed with IIIT Delhi for the purpose of delivering world class transport infrastructure to Delhi. Foundation for Centre for Sustainable Mobility has been laid today. Its center will be at IIIT Delhi and a fund of Rs 6.1 crores has been arranged for it. The infrastructure of the charging station in Delhi will be integrated into the app through this center. With this, you can see the location of any charging station, its current position. Apart from this, everything will be integrated on the One Delhi app. All public transport including rural transport service, auto, metro will be integrated with the One Delhi app. Bus queue shelters will also equipped with passenger information systems whose information will also be found on the app.

70,000 people buying tickets from the app

IIIT Delhi has fulfilled the Kejriwal government's dream of providing contactless tickets for buses. Every day 70,000 people are buying contactless tickets. For the first time in the country, the process of purchasing tickets digitally has started. Among all methods used for ticket purchase, the figure in digital purchase is up by 6%.

Travelers can see real time location of buses

The process of transporting the real time location of cluster buses to the passengers through open transit data has been initiated. At present, all the DTC-cluster buses have real time locations visible to passengers. The open transit data platform will be designed by the Center for Sustainable Mobility.

Kejriwal government to fulfill the dream of making Delhi transportation world class

In developed countries, if the load of passengers increases on any route, then more buses automatically go on that route. Similarly, in Delhi, buses will increase when the load of passengers on any route increases. Whenever passengers increase on any route, this data will be made available through GPS. After this, buses will ply on that route. Kejriwal government is moving fast towards achieving this objective.
