A light earthquake measuring 4.0-magnitude on the Richter Scale hit Haryana’s Sonipat district on Sunday. The tremors were felt across Delhi-NCR, including Gurugram. The earthquake struck the state around 3:37 pm.

“Earthquake of magnitude 4.0 hit Sonipat in Haryana at 3:37 pm, tremors were felt in adjoining areas of Delhi NCR,” ANI reported.

No causalities or damage to properties due to the earthquake has been reported yet. The tremors were felt in Noida as well.

"I was working just starting my shift when I suddenly felt my system was shaking. I even asked my colleagues if they also felt the same. Later, I saw in news reports that it was actually an earthquake," said Kunal, who works in Noida's sector 126.

People from Delhi and Gurugram took to Twitter soon after the tremors were felt.
