The coaches derailed at platform 12 affecting the rail traffic on the route and causing delays to a few trains. The train was at a low speed hence reducing the chances of a major mishap.

Manduadih Express derails at New Delhi Railway Station, no casualties reported

At least six coaches of the New Delhi-Varanasi Manduadih Express derailed at the New Delhi Railway Station late night on Thursday.

There is no report of any casualty said the sources.

A Northern Railway official told IANS, “The incident took place at around 10.30 pm on Thursday when the train was about to depart from New Delhi. The reason of the derailment is not clear yet. An inquiry has been ordered.”

The coaches derailed at platform 12 affecting the rail traffic on the route and causing delays to a few trains. The train was at a low speed hence reducing the chances of a major mishap.

Of the six coaches that derailed, one was an AC coach, three sleepers, one general and one inspection coach.

The coaches have been replaced and the departure was rescheduled to 1 am on Friday.
