Coronavirus Outbreak: At least 6 people from Uttar Pradesh’s Noida, who were kept under observation for suspected coronavirus infection (COVID-19) after they attended a birthday party hosted by an infected Delhi resident, have tested negative for the virus. However, all these 6 people will be put under home quarantine for the next 14 days.

In a statement on Wednesday, Gautam Budg Nagar District Magistrate said, “The samples taken from 6 contacts in Noida have tested negative but they will need to be under home quarantine for next 14 days and if symptoms develop, can be retested again. Government and administration is keeping a watch. No need to panic.”

"Several schoolmates of the child of a COVID-19 infected man came into contact with him at a party. We have closed down the school to sanitise it. The infected man is admitted to a hospital in Delhi," Times of India quoted Anurag Bhargav, chief medical officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar as saying.

Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan will today take a meeting with senior officials from Delhi Government for the management and preparedness of coronavirus.

It is worth mentioning here that soon after the father of one of the students tested positive for COVID-19, Noida’s two high-profile schools - Shriram Millennium and Shiv Nadar – announced holidays till March 9. Around 40 Shriram students have been sent for a 28-day quarantine.
