Noida Man Tests Positive For Coronavirus; CMO Orders Home Isolation For 700 Employees Of Private Firm

A man working at a private firm in Noida has tested positive for novel coronavirus. A resident of Delhi, the man had recently travelled to France and China. Chief Medical Officer Anurag Bhargav as ordered home isolation for over 700 employees of the firm. This is the first confirmed case from Noida. “The patient, a resident of Delhi, used to travel to Noida every day. It has been learnt that he came into contact with many people before he was detected positive. Right now, he is in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital. As a precautionary measure, his colleagues have been asked to work from home,” Bhargav was quoted as saying by The Hindu. (Coronavirus live updates)

Earlier, there was COVID-19 scare at two prestigious schools in Greater Noida. However, after the quarantine, all students and teachers were tested negative. In neighbouring Ghaziabad, two cases of coronavirus have been reported so far. At state level, Uttar Pradesh has reported 11 COVID-19 cases as of now. The national tally of confirmed cases of coronavirus patients have gone up to 75. India has also registered first coronavirus death. Unlike Delhi and Haryana, Uttar Pradesh has not declared coronavirus as an epidemic.

Social distancing and washing hands are only effective measures to avoid corona infection. While many believe that rise in temperature during summer season may curb the spread of COVID-19 disease, the health ministry says that there is no scientific proof regarding this. Researchers say that every virus behaves differently and there is no study on how coronavirus will behave in changed temperatures.

Meanwhile, at a time when scientists and researches all over the world are battling to find an effective medicine for the coronavirus pandemic, Indian doctors may have achieved stunning success. Doctors at prestigious Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Rajasthan’s capital city Jaipur have reportedly treated a coronavirus patient. According to the information available in the public domain, the woman is an Italian tourist who was tested positive for COVID-19.

She was part of the group of 23 Italian tourists who were visiting India. Her 69-year-old husband was also tested positive of coronavirus. The woman was being treated at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Latest reports suggest that she has been tested negative for the COVID-19 disease in last 24 hours. The woman was being administered with HIV and malaria drugs. A report by The Times of India confirmed the same. Jaipur doctors also gave her H1N1 drugs.
