In a brutal attack, a 20-day-old girl was mauled by a pig in South Delhi's Bhati Mines on Friday. As per the reports, the child was attacked while she was being breastfed by her mother.
The girl, whose parents are labourers, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the AIIMS trauma centre.
According to the president of the Bhati Mines Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA), "The pig is owned by a local, who sells and butchers the animals for a living. The animals are still roaming around the locality and even attacked a goat today".
A case has been registered under sections 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC against the owner of the animal.
