The BJP-run Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Monday razed the make-shift shelter for stray dogs in Saket, Pratima Devi, who takes care of over 400 dogs said.
Pratima, said, “The MCD officials came along with police and threatened to run over a vehicle over her and the dogs if she don’t vacant the place.”
“They even threw the dogs’ food, said pained Pratima Devi, the “Dog lady of Delhi”.

Pratima Devi, a rag-picker who is also known as ‘Amma’ runs a dog shelter in Delhi’s Saket area and looks after over 400 stray dogs. She spends all her earnings to feed her canines.

Pratima Devi loves her dogs more than her own family and looking after them for the last 30 years. During an interview to a barcroft.tv she said, “I feel happy to live with them. When I was with my husband, I wasn’t happy".
"My son calls me all the time and tells me that he will take me to the village with him. But I don’t listen to him, I want to do good for the dogs,” said said.
