Days after a devastating dust-storm claimed lives of 73 people in Uttar Pradesh, the Home Ministry on Sunday issued a fresh warning about thunderstorm for Delhi and adjoining NCR areas.
As per India Meteorological Department, another set of thunderstorms may hit some places in Delhi and adjoining NCR, including Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Khurja, Greater Noida, and Bulandshahr on Sunday.
Parts of western Uttar Pradesh like Meerut, Hapur, Muzzafarnagar and Bijnor too may witness a thunderstorm with rain, according to the Met department.
"There is a possibility of rain and strong winds in the next 48-72 hours. Monsoon will arrive well in time this year," ANI quoted Kulwinder Kaur Gill from India Meteorological Department later on Sunday.

Besides Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan also witnessed a high rate of casualties earlier this week. In Rajasthan, 35 persons were killed and another 209 injured in the thunderstorm on Wednesday.
While six persons were killed in Uttarakhand, two lives were lost in Punjab. Another 8 persons died under similar conditions in Telangana.
As many as 124 people lost their lives due to thunderstorm and lightning in the five states.

In the wake of this massive storm, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cut short his Karnataka Elections campaign and rushed back to the state.
The chief minister visited the worst-hit Agra on Saturday and later left for Kanpur and other affected areas.
Yogi distributed cheques to people affected by the storm and said, "Relief has been provided to the affected. Kin of those who died have been given Rs 4 lakh as ex-gratia and the injured are given free treatment in hospitals".
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday also announced some ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the kin of the diseased. Modi also provided Rs 50,000 each for the seriously injured from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
