Travel plans on Independence Day: Check out THIS advisory from Delhi Metro

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Tuesday issued an advisory for metro commuters ahead of Independence Day. According to the advisory, Metro Train services will run normally across the entire Delhi Metro Network on August 15. However, the entry and exit at four stations of Violet Line  i.e, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate and ITO will be permitted from select entry/exit Gates during the Independence day ceremony. DMRC also plans to bar entry and exit from some selected points at these stations. 

"Metro Train services will run as usual across the entire Delhi Metro Network on Independence Day", DMRC's official release reads. 

DMRC plans to install additional ticket counters at Lal Quila and Jama Masjid Metro stations to facilitate people. It also seeks deployment of additional staff for guiding the additional rush after ceremony.

Moreover, all the Metro stations will remain open on Independence Day but parking at Metro stations will not be allowed from 6 am on 14th August (Wednesday) till 2pm on 15th August 2019 (Thursday). 

Earlier, in the aftermath of Article 370, Delhi Metro was kept on alert and DMRC advised passengers to allow extra time in security checks.
