Uttar Pradesh Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Dilshad was shot dead in Delhi’s Batla House on Monday, Police said. Dilshad was BSP’s Panchayat member from Meerut. According to reports, the BSP leader was shot four times from point-blank range by shooters who were wearing helmets.
"Police were informed about the incident at 6.05 pm, following which Dilshad was rushed to Holy Family Hospital where he died during the course of treatment," PTI quoted Chinmoy Biswal, Deputy Commissioner of Police as saying.

It was suspected that the murder was a fallout of personal enmity. Police have registered a case and an investigation was underway.
Batla House, a locality in Jamia Nagar in Delhi, where the incident took place is famous as an encounter site in the national capital. In 2008, an encounter had occurred in against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in the Batla House.
In the encounter, two suspected terrorists were gunned down and two other suspects were arrested, while one accused escaped. Encounter specialist and Delhi Police officer Mohan Chand Sharma, who led the police action, was shot dead during the incident.
