Woman stabbed more than 30 times by alleged stalker in Burari area of Delhi

In a shocking incident, an alleged stalker stabbed a 21-year-old woman 24 times to death in full public view on Tuesday morning in north Delhi’s Burari area.

The accused, 34-year-old Surender, had been following and harassing Karuna, a teacher, the police said. Around 24 stabs were found on her body.

Around five months ago, the woman’s family had complained to the police, who said both the families had "reached a compromise". Hence no action was taken against the stalker.

Here is a statement issued by DCP North:

Today at 9 AM , Karuna age 21 years d/o Naresh r/o Sant Nagar Burari was stabbed  by Surendar Singh, age 34 near Labour Chowk, Burari Village. Deceased was a teacher at Novel Reaches School. 

The assailant was beaten by the Public at the spot and is admitted in Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital. He claims that he was in affair with this girl and today he saw some compromising pics sent by girl to another boy and that made him angry. The father of assailant is a retired SI of Delhi Police.

There are 22 stab wounds on girls body and she was declared brought dead at Trauma Center. Weapon of offence has been recovered and FIR is being registered on the statement of deceased girl's cousin who is an eye witness also.
