In yet another tragic incident at least 10 people were killed and two others injured after a massive fire broke out at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Telangana's Warangal on Wednesday.

"Ten bodies have been recovered from the fire accident site. Two injured persons have been rescued and rushed to hospital," PTI quoted Warangal (Rural) District Collector M Haritha over phone. Haritha is currently at the scene of tragedy and supervising the rescue efforts.

The incident took place around 11 am in Kotilingala village, about 135 km from Warangal city. Prime facie, the mishap is suspected to be caused by electrical short-circuit.

Following this massive blaze six fire tenders were rushed to the spot while the bodies have been sent for postmortem and the identification process. Five injured people were shifted to the nearby MGM Hospital in Warangal town.

Though preliminary investigation is pointing towards the electrical short- circuit, a detailed probe is underway to ascertain the actual reason.

According to locals, loud explosions were heard prior to the fire.
