At least 11 people were killed and three others were severely injured after a trailer truck collided with a jeep in Rajasthan's Jodhpur on Saturday. The accident took place on the Balotra-Phalodi highway in Shergarh area. The injured people were rushed to the local hospital in Jodhpur.

Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the death of 11 people in the road accident. A tweet by PMO reads-

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot also expressed condolences as he tweeted, “Deeply saddened to learn about tragic accident on Balotra-Phalodi Mega Highway in Shergarh area, Jodhpur in which 11 people have lost lives. My heartfelt condolences to those who lost their loved ones, may god give them strength to bear this loss. I wish speedy recovery to injured.”

Meanwhile, Shergarh police reached the collision site and a crane was being used to extract the bodies of the deceased from the wreckage.
