A 45-year-old man was abducted by suspected militants from the Sopore area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the police said on Sunday. Mushtaq Ahmad Mir was abducted by unknown gunmen, who barged into his house in Harwan area in the north Kashmir district, on Saturday night, a police official said. Mushtaq works as a local labourer and a case was registered and a search launched to track and rescue him, the official said.

In another incident, two civilians were reported missing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, the police said on Sunday.
According to news agency PTI, Ghulam Rasool and Bashir Ahmad, both residents of Sawjian sector, had gone for some work along the LoC on September 12 but did not return, the officials said, adding they might have inadvertently crossed to other side.

The police said the family members of the two filed a complaint in the concerned police station on Saturday evening. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and are investigating the matter, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Pandey said.
