Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti , who is currently detained under Public Safety Act (PSA), has been shifted to her residence. According to the officials, the detention of the PDP leader will continue. Earlier, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah was released after nearly eight months of detention. "232 days after my detention today I finally left Hari Niwas. Itâs a very different world today to the one that existed on 5th August 2019," Omar Abdullah tweeted along with his photo.
The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister was on March 24 freed after eight months in detention after the administration revoked the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) against him.
"A lot has happened since August, people have suffered a lot and I am going to talk about all that at length but right now the bigger problem is corona in front of us," Omar Abdullah said. Omar Abdullah also appealed to the government to release all political prisoners and restore high speed Internet communication in Jammu and Kashmir.
His father, former chief minister Farooq Abdullah, was also charged under the PSA and released on March 13 after 221 days in detention. PDP leader and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti continues to be under detention.
