Coronavirus: CM Yogi Adityanath Thanks Mayawati For Directing BSP MLAs To Help Govt In Fighting COVID-19

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday thanked BSP chief Mayawati for instructing her party legislators to extend help to the state government.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday thanked BSP chief Mayawati for instructing her party legislators to extend help to the state government in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, the UP CM had appealed to the MLAs, MLCs to donate their one-month salary and Rs 1 crore to the COVID-19 fund. “MLAs and MLCs have been requested to donate Rs 1 crore each and their one month''s salary to the fund”, an official statement read.

Yogi Adityanath had also appealed to the corporate sector to provide financial assistance to the government under Corporate Social Responsibility in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

While urging the legislators to contribute to the COVID-19 Fund, the UP CM had also said that everyone should rise above party lines and stand in solidarity against the coronavirus. Along with this, CM Yogi has directed officials for the manufacturing of almost 66 crore triple layers masks made out of khadi.

According to reports, the UP government seeks to provide a couple of masks to every individual across the state. The poor in the state may get it free of cost while those others may need to pay minimal charges for the masks.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh has gone up to 174 with 2 deaths reported so far. However, 19 patients in the state have been cured and discharged, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
