Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday invoked the National Security Act (NSA) on 6 people from the Tablighi Jamaat, who reportedly misbehaved with the medical staff of MMG District Hospital in Ghaziabad. Terming them as ‘enemies of humanity’, the UP CM said that they were being slapped with the NSA and added that they won’t be spared.
“They (accused) will not obey the law. Neither they will accept the system as they are the enemies of humanity. What they have done to women health workers is a heinous crime, they are being slapped with the NSA. We will not spare them”, Yogi said in a statement.
This comes after the Madhya Pradesh government slapped NSA against a set of people for attacking health official in Indore. The health officials had gone to screen the coronavirus suspects in the city.
“An incident like Indore wherein the doctors were attacked should not be seen anywhere in the state, for this, we will take whatever action is Yogi required by law”, Yogi Adityanath added.
Earlier on Thursday, an FIR was also registered against six persons from Tablighi Jamat being quarantined at MMG District Hospital for obscene behaviour in MMG Hospital. They reportedly "walked around the ward without their trousers on and made lewd gestures towards the nurses."
Moreover, the Home Ministry has blacklisted 960 foreigners were involved in Tablighi Jamaat activities despite being on a tourist visa. The ministry has also decided to cancel their visas and the police force across the country have been asked to take legal action against them.
The Tablighi Jamaat activists who have been blacklisted include 9 British, 4 American, 6 Chinese, 3 French nationals, 379 Indonesians and 110 Bangladeshis.
