Uttar Pradesh assembly was adjourned for the day today after condoling the death of state minister Rajendra Singh Rana.
Tributes were paid to sitting member Mitrasen Yadav and Rana after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav moved the obituary reference.
Leader of the Opposition Swami Prasad Manurya, CLP leader Pradip Mathur and leader of RLD Dalbir Singh recalled their contribution in the assembly.
Leader of BJP Suresh Khanna while recalling his personal association with Rana said he (Rana) was suffering from cancer and underlined the need for more research to fight the disease.
After observing a minute’s silence, Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey adjourned the house for the day.
The MLAs also condoled the death of former members Yashpal Singh, Baburam, Ramji Singh, and former Lok Sabha Speaker Balram Jakhar.
