A bus driver was killed and seven other passengers were injured when two buses collided on the Lucknow-Gorakhpur highway in the early hours of Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
“The incident took place at around 2 am in the Khorbar area due to dense fog. A bus hit the rear side of another,” said police.
Most passengers were in deep sleep during the time of the incident, it said.

Locals residing nearby the highways rushed to the accident spot after hearing a loud noise and alerted police, they said.
Police rushed the injured people to a nearby hospital and sent the body of a driver of one of the buses for postmortem.
Earlier this year, a bus accident happened in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district, killing 17 people, 16 on the spot and 25 others were injured.
The bus, according to reports, was travelling from Jaipur and heading to Farrukhabad in UP, with 60 passengers on board.
