A fire broke out at a residential building in Millat Nagar of Mumbai's Jogeshwari area on Thursday. Soon after the incident, two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and put out the blaze. However, there were no reports of casualty or any damage to property in the incident.
"Mumbai: Fire that had broken out in a residential building in Millat Nagar in Jogeshwari area, today, has been doused off. No injuries have been reported," according to a report by news agency ANI.

Mumbai has been a witness to some of the worst fire accidents in the past few years. The year 2018 proved to be disastrous for the financial capital of India when it comes to combating fire incidents.
There have been over 49,000 incidents of fire in Mumbai in the last one decade, which claimed over 600 lives and injured several others, according to a statement released by the Maharashtra government.
Also, as many as 609 people and seven fire brigade personnel died in these incidents during the 10-year period while properties worth Rs 110.42 crore were destroyed.

While faulty electricity systems caused 33,946 blazes, 1,116 incidents were due to gas leakage. Whereas, 14,329 cases were reported owing to several other reasons. Of the total fire incidents in 10 years, 3,151 were reported in various slams across the city.
