Four people are feared drowned off the Juhu beach in Mumbai on Thursday evening, a police official said.
The incident happened at around 5:30 pm after a group of five young boys ventured into the sea for a swim, the official said, adding, one of them, Wasim Khan (22), was rescued by lifeguards deployed at the beach.
The four are identified as Fardeen Saudagar (17), Sohail Khan (17), Faisal Sheikh (17) and Nazeer Gazi (22). A search for them is underway, the official said.
Three minor girls drown in Bihar
Meanwhile, in Bihar's Banka district, three minor girls drowned in river Girwa on Thursday, a police official said.
The three minor girls had gone to bathe in Girwa river and drowned in deep waters, Bausi Circle, Police Inspector, Bimal Das said.
The deceased has been identified as Anjani Kumari(10), Nandini Kumari (12) and Shivani Kumari (14), Das said.
All the three deceased belonged to Dudh Simapul village and the bodies have been handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem, he added.
