Arunachal Governor discusses recruitment of Arunachal youths in the IAF with Dhanoa

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra took up with the Chief of the Air Staff Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa on Wednesday the issue of recruitment of the state's youth in the Indian Air Force, an official communique in Itanagar said.

The governor also took up the issue of Dullungmukh Air Force firing range, it said. 

Mishra met Dhanoa in Delhi and urged him for assistance through Pay back to society group (PBSG) of serving armed forces officers from the state, it said.

The governor said that at present out of the 33 officers from the state in the armed forces four of them are Air Force officers from Arunachal Pradesh, including Group Captain R D Musabi.

He asked Dhanoa to allow the officers to come to the state for visits to various schools and colleges to motivate the youth to join the Indian Armed Forces.

He emphasised a holistic approach in regard to the firing range with top priority for the safety of the local population without disrupting the battle worthiness of the IAF fighter squadrons and the Air warriors.

The Chief of the Air Staff assured to address the issues placed by the governor, the communique said.

Mishra, who is on a official tour to the national capital, also met the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and discussed with him security issues, including border area Development, it added.
