A total of 15 people were arrested in Bihar Tuesday after a woman was beaten up and stripped by a mob over the suspicion of a youth's murder in Bihiya of Bhojpur district.
"Total 15 people arrested in connection with the incident where a man was found dead in Bhojpur's Bihiya and a woman was allegedly stripped and thrashed on suspicion of being involved in the murder," the news agency ANI reported.
On Monday, a man named Vimlesh Sah, 19 was found dead on railway tracks in Bihiya, following which the angry mob allegedly thrashed the woman, who is currently under police custody and undergoing medical tests. Scores of agitated villagers also burnt down shops and torched vehicles including police cars in Bhojpur.

The dreadful incident also led to the suspension of eight police officials, including the Station House Officer, Bahiya, and station in-charge Government Railway Police. Meanwhile, police, Awkash Kumar, the Superintendent of Police has launched an investigation into the matter.
According to Kumar, Sah's native village Damodarpur rushed to the spot following his death and suspected that those living in a red-light area nearby would have strangled the youth to death.

However, Inspector General of Patna Zone, Naiyar Hasain Khan has also assured significant steps to nab the culprits. "The culprits would not be spared, and strict action will be taken against them," Khan added.
