Air India flight makes emergency landing in Patna after bird hit

An Air India flight bound for Delhi on Thursday made an emergency landing in Patna due to bird hit.

The flight AI 410 was carrying 124 passengers and all are reportedly safe.

“Air India flight with 124 passengers makes emergency landing at Patna airport after a bird hit it. The flight was bound to Delhi. All passengers are safe,” ANI tweeted.

This is the third incident of bird hit in a month. Earlier, passengers flying in two flights of SpiceJet and Indigo suffered bird hits on June 17 over the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna.

However, Patna Airport Director Rajender Singh Lahauria said the emergency lenading was made due to technical reasons and not due to bird hit.

"A Delhi bound Air India flight made an emergency landing at Patna airport due to technical reasons. Pilot did not mention anything about a bird hit but only technical reasons," ANI quoted Lahauria as saying.
