In an encouraging development, Chhattisgarh has set up the state's largest BPO Call Center in Naxal hit Dantewada where 480 youths are undergoing training.
This comes in the backdrop of the notoriety that the state of Chhattisgarh and Dantewada have earned due to Naxal related incidents.
“It's a favourable sector for youth to build a career and one of the best opportunities for us. Trainers are teaching us English, correct pronunciation of words, typing and ways to deal with people. We are being given Rs 4000 as a stipend,” said Kartikey, a trainee.
“We started this to provide jobs to the educated youth of Dantewada and adjacent regions. Currently, there are 480 youths involved in the programme but we aim to take the tally up to 1000. We want to provide world-class infrastructure to the BPO,” said Saurabh Kumar, Dantewada District Collector.
