In a historic and massive crackdown, the Mira-Bhayandar Police of Maharashtra have busted one of India’s biggest drug factories. The secret factory, located in Cherlapally, Telangana, was raided, and MD drugs worth ₹12,000 crore were seized. During the operation, the police recovered 32,000 litres of raw material, which could produce drugs worth crores in the international market. A total of 12 people have been arrested, including the factory owner, a chemical expert, and a foreign national. This is being seen as one of the largest anti-drug operations in the country’s history.

From 200 Grams to ₹12,000 Crore: How the Drug Network Was Exposed

The investigation began a few weeks ago when the police caught an accused with just 200 grams of drugs. What started as a small seizure led to the exposure of a massive inter-state and international drug racket. The probe revealed that the factory was supplying high-quality MD drugs to several states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, and Telangana. The arrest of a foreign national deepened suspicions of international links. Police believe this network is connected to one of the biggest drug supply chains ever busted in India.

Digital Payments and Cryptocurrency Used for Drug Trade

Police investigations revealed that the entire network used digital platforms, cryptocurrency, and even the dark web for drug transactions and payments. The racket relied on modern technology to stay hidden and avoid detection. A special team of digital and forensic experts is now examining data records, chat histories, and online transactions to uncover the full network. The seized MD drugs are of super high quality, with huge international demand. Police suspect that the supply links may stretch as far as South Asian countries and Europe.

#ZeroTolerance Mission: A Big Win, More Arrests Expected

This operation is a major victory for the Maharashtra government’s #ZeroTolerance campaign against drugs. Police Commissioner Nikhet Kaushik stated that this is the biggest drug seizure ever by Mira-Bhayandar Police. Since a foreign national is involved, police are also working closely with international agencies to track the global network. Officials believe that many more arrests could happen in the coming days. This historic bust has not only broken the backbone of the inter-state drug mafia but has also put security agencies across India on high alert.
