A Delhi-based businessman was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in the Kirti Nagar area of west Delhi on Monday night, the police said. Anand Agarwal, an iron trader, and his driver Sujit were shot at the secluded underpass near the railway station on his way back home to Mansarovar Garden from his office in Narayana.

The Police Control Room (PCR) said that they received a call regarding the incident about 8.45 pm. While Anand Aggarwal was declared brought dead on arrival at the hospital and his driver Sujit is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The incident took place near a police picket. When the on-duty personnel heard the gunshots, they rushed to the spot. One of the accused Salim was nabbed from the spot after a brief chase by the alert team of Kirti Nagar police station.
