A 32-year-old married man allegedly killed his 28-year-old live-in partner in Delhi’s Usmanpur on January 22 and burying her body in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, the police said. The police also said that the man, who is a carpenter by profession, also had a three-year-old child. His wife used to have regular fights with his wife over his partner living in the same house as them. On the other hand, his partner used to pressure him to marry her, which led to another round of arguments between them.
According to ToI, after a heated argument on January 22, the carpenter strangled her to death. He also added that after she passed away, the accused wrapped the dead body in a cloth and decided on dumping it in a drain. But the increased security deployment in and around the national capital on account of Republic Day was a major hindrance in the execution of his plan.
The accused then hired a car and went to his village, Khatriyan in Bijnor. The accused was eventually caught when locals saw him while burying the body of his partner. On being informed, the Uttar Pradesh Police took the body in police custody as they questioned the man. The car, however, has not been found yet.
