As Delhi is reeling under an extreme heat wave and temperatures are ever soaring, so are tempers. In a bizarre incident, a 33-year-old woman was killed allegedly by her father-in-law after an argument over increased electricity bill and a light bulb that she had removed at their house in central Delhi’s Paharganj. The accused alleged killed her by slitting her throat.

The police said after killing woman, Ram, 65, confessed to the crime by going to a nearby police post in blood-soaked clothes He has been arrested and booked for murder.
“Ram told us that Neeraj Devi often picked fights with him and his wife, Hukum Devi, for the past some years as she had some disagreements with her husband, Darshan,” a police officer, associated with the case, was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
Ram told the police that Neeraj had been harassing him and his wife Hukum Devi after their son Darshan left home and started living in Gurugram. Neeraj would often trouble them by removing light bulbs from the staircase, kitchen and bathroom. He said she did this after he scolded her for high electricity bill last month, the police said.
