In a brazen incident that took place in the national capital’s New Ashok Nagar area, a 51-year-old woman and her paramour killed her 30-year-old son on Saturday night, the police said. Investigations in the case revealed that the victim, Ravinder Pathak, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Basti, had recently moved in with his mother, who shared the rented house with her live-in partner, Ajeet in the east Delhi locality. Pathak, who worked as a driver in neighbouring Noida, objected to their illicit relationship and this often led to arguments among them.
On Saturday night, when Pathak reached home after duty, he saw his mother and Ajeet in an objectionable position that led to an altercation among them, the police said. The argument turned violent and the woman and her live-in partner hit Pathak on the head with a brick, resulting in his death, he added.
Later, Ajeet called up an ambulance service. When the ambulance driver reached the spot, he saw Pathak lying in a pool of blood following which he informed the police. However, the woman managed to take Pathak’s body to her daughter’s house in Azadpur for cremation. Her daughter suspected foul play and forced her to return with the body to New Ashok Nagar.
When the woman returned, she was nabbed by the police. Her live-in partner Ajeet was also arrested and a case was registered.
