In a gruesome case of abject betrayal and murder, a man killed his friend and his wife at their home in Gurugram over a year-old money dispute. The seven-year-old son of the couple saw his parents dying. Though the police have arrested the accused, the weapon of the murder has not been recovered so far. According to a report by The Hindustan Times, the murder took place at the couple’s house located in Gurugram’s Dundahera area.

According to the HT report, the crime took place in hourly morning hours of Wednesday. Abhinav Aggarwal, the accused, was an ex-colleague of Vikram Singh, the victim. They both used to work at a BPO facility. Victim’s brother Shailendra Singh said that the monetary trouble is behind the morbid crime. Singh said that Aggarwal had tricked his brother into a fishy deal and duped him of Rs 1.5 lakh. On Tuesday, Vikram and his wife Jyoti invited Aggarwal to their house to settle the matter.

The son saw blood oozing out of his father’s chest.  “He resisted and his wife woke up due to the melee. She ran out of the room. The suspect ran after her and stabbed her in the staircase. Their boy had woken up and ran downstairs. The suspect tried to escape but could not open the main gate as it was locked,” Udyog Vihar ACP Birem Singh was quoted as saying by the HT. Both Vikram Singh and his wife Jyoti were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were declared brought dead.

The police have filed a case against Aggarwal under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. The young boy, who lost his parents, is now living with one of his relative.
