In a macabre case of double murder, a man and his wife were brutally killed, their body stripped naked and stuffed in two bags at a farmhouse situated near West Bengal capital city Kolkata. The brutal murders came to light after the farmhouse owner’s brother discovered the decomposed bodies, a Times of India report said on Wednesday. The victims have been identified as Pradip and Alpana Biswas. The couple was working as caretakers of the farmhouse for more than two decades. The owner of the farmhouse, Dipankar Dey, used to visit the farmhouse generally on weekends. The TOI report said that Dipankar told police that he last visited the farmhouse two months ago. Â
However, the initial probe revealed that no cash and or valuable jewellery were stolen from the farmhouse. The only thing missing is a TV. Dipankar’s younger brother Joy was the first person, who unearthed the crime. According to TOI report, hit by a strong stench, Joy realised that something was not right. To his horror, Joy saw two bags in a pool of blood with a blood-soaked wrench inside the bathroom. Alarmed, he called out the local panchayat people, who in turn informed the local police. Upon opening the bags, the cops discovered the bodies of the caretakers. It is still not clear as to why the killers left the bodies in the bags. Â
"We found the rear door open. We went in and was hit by a foul stench. We opened the washroom from where the stench appeared to be coming from and saw blood all over the floor and on the two trolleys. We ran out feeling giddy and called the gram panchayat pradhan," Kartik Mandal was quoted as saying by TOI.
