Tushar Atre, Kidnapped Indian-Origin Millionaire, Found Dead Inside Girlfriend’s BMW In California

Tushar Atre was tech millionaire in the US.

Tushar Atre, tech millionaire who was kidnapped from his residence on October 1, was found dead inside his girlfriend’s BMW car. According to the Santa Cruz Police, the 50-year-old owner of a digital marketing firm Atre Net Inc in California was last seen getting into his white BMW before he was kidnapped from his Santa Cruz residence around 3 am on Tuesday.

Atre, who had worked in Silicon Valley since the 1990s, was currently the CEO of a firm called Atrenet. The police believe multiple assailants burst into his multi-million dollar home on 3000 block of Pleasure Point Drive that looks out onto the ocean. A 911 call reporting a home invasion was received from the property before Atre vanished.

While no motive has been released in the case, friends and several neighbours said the tech boss had 'enemies' in his business and could have been involved in illicit activities.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office released a Facebook statement on Tuesday afternoon and said: "We have some unfortunate news, we have found the car associated with this case along with a deceased person. The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Tushar Atre.

Around 3:00 am this morning Tushar was taken from his home on the 3000 block of Pleasure Point Drive during a crime. He was last seen getting into his white 2008 BMW SUV license plate 7CUG581."

In a similar incident earlier this year, an Indian-origin family of four was found dead at their house in Iowa. The deceased were identified as Chandrasekhar Sunkara, 44, Lavanya, 41 and two young boys, aged 15, and 10 years.
