A casual Wednesday for people in Henan city of Zhumadian, China took a ghastly turn when a woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death over an ice-cream argument. According to the Shanghaiist, the woman stabbed her boyfriend to death with a pair of scissors after he ridiculed her weight upon the woman suggesting that have some ice-cream.
“You’re already so fat and you still want to eat ice cream?” eyewitness to the crime reportedly overheard.
Following the remark on her weight, the alleged woman went to a store, bought a pair of scissors, and stabbed her partner four times, causing him to collapse to the ground.
Police yesterday said the suspect, known by her surname Wang, was arguing with her boyfriend, known by his surname Zhang, when she attacked him with a pair of scissors on Fengguang Road.
The couple had been shopping, police said in a statement on Weibo. When paramedics arrived, the boyfriend identified as Zhang was rushed to the hospital but died en route after losing too much blood.
The woman was arrested following an attempt to flee.
The couple were both only in their twenties. Friends say that they had been dating for less than a month.
