Karnataka State Board is going to promote Class 7 and Class 8 Students to the next grade without annual exams. The Government of Karnataka has taken this decision as the board is unable to conduct the annual exams in view of Coronavirus Lockdown. Suresh Kumar, Education Minister, Karnataka has said that Class 7 and Class 8 students will be promoted directly to the next class without exams. However, school students of class 9 will not be promoted directly and will be promoted to class 10 on the basis of their school-based assessments.
Karnataka State Board Exams 2020 Update
Earlier, the Karnataka State Board has already postponed the class 1 to class 6 school exams and took the decision to promote students from Class 1 to Class 6 to the next grade without annual exams due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. This clarifies that Karnataka School Students from Class 1 to Class 8 are going to be promoted to the next grade without annual exams.

Karnataka Board SSLC and PUC Exams 2020 It is to note that Karnataka State Board has not postponed SSLC (Class 10) and PUC (Class 12) Exams 2020. The board will release the revised timetable for Karnataka SSL and PUC Exams 2020 after April 14. Meanwhile, many state boards including CBSE and CISCE boards have also postponed the class 10 and class 12 board exams due to outbreak of Coronavirus.
