UP Board Update: UPMSP (Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parisad) is going to follow NCERT Syllabus for Commerce and Arts Subjects. It is to note that Uttar Pradesh State Government is in the process of reviewing the recommendation. In the last academic year, the Board moved to NCERT based syllabus for the Science and Arts stream. Board officials also said that soon after the State Government issued the instructions, the board started to shift the entire curriculum of Science and Arts Subjects as per NCERY syllabus. Importantly, the change is likely to be implemented from the 2020-21 academic session. All the UP Board affiliated schools will be following the NCERT based curriculum once the change process is implemented.
UP Board secretary, Neena Srivastava said that officials are in the initial stage of shifting the UP-Board syllabus based on NCERT Curriculum. All the reports of subject matter expert will be considered and sent to the UP Government for final approval. As soon as the government approves the change, the board will shift the Commerce and English syllabus in accordance to NCERT Curriculum from the next academic session.
In the meantime, UP Board already implemented NCERT Syllabus for Class 10 Social Science subject. In addition, the syllabus of class 12 Civics, Geography, History, Sociology and Economics was also shifted to NCERT based curriculum. Earlier, in the year 2018, the NCERT syllabus was introduced in UP Board’s 18 subjects. The subjects were Mathematics and Science for class 10, Science, Mathematics and Science for class 9 and Sociology, History, Geography, Economics, Civics, Mathematics and Chemistry for Class 11, and Physics, Biology and Physics for Class 12.
