About Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP)
The Board of Intermediate Education is an independent board under the Ministry of Secondary Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The BIEAP was established in the year 1971 with a vision to regulate and supervise the Intermediate education system in the state of Andhra Pradesh. BIEAP also executes and governs numerous activities that include devising of courses of study, formulating the syllabus, conducting examinations, granting affiliations to colleges as well as providing direction, support and leadership for the various educational institutions under its jurisdiction. Andhra Pradesh is the first Indian state in the country to have adopted the 10+2+3 pattern of education. The BIEAP conducts intermediate examination for both regular and vocational courses. A total of 561 colleges imparting vocational education are affiliated to BIEAP. The AP intermediate examination is expected to be taken by around 10.6 lakh students in the year 2019.
