About Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP)
The Board of Intermediate Education is an independent board established in the year 1971 under the Ministry of Secondary Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The BIEAP is responsible for regulating and supervising the Intermediate education system in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, BIEAP governs and executes several activities such as planning the courses of study, developing the syllabus, conducting examinations, granting affiliations to colleges as well as providing support, direction and leadership for the numerous educational institutions under its jurisdiction. Andhra Pradesh is the first Indian state in the country to have adopted the 10+2+3 pattern of education. The BIEAP conducts intermediate examination for both regular as well vocational courses. BIEAP, so far has granted affiliations to 561 colleges imparting vocational education. In 2019, around 10.6 lakh students are estimated to appear in the AP intermediate examination. The BIEAP will conduct the AP intermediate exam 2019 in about 2800 centres across the state.
