IBPS Clerk Mains 2018 Exam Analysis: Paper difficult as compared to last year

IBPS conducted the Mains Examination for the post of clerical cadre successfully on 20th January.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducted the Mains Examination for the post of clerical cadre successfully on 20th January, 2019. The exam was held in a single slot from 10:00 am to 12: 40 pm. The candidates who had successfully qualified for the preliminary examination have appeared in the mains exam of IBPS clerk.

This year, the IPBS Main Exam was conducted in online mode. The exam contained a total of 190 questions – all objective type. The time frame of the individual section was set under the default setting by the server. The order of the section is as follows:

General Awareness Section (35 min) – 50 questions

English Language (35 min) – 40 questions

Reasoning + Computer Aptitude (45 min) – 50 questions

Quantitative Aptitude (45 min) – 50 questions

As per the review, the Quantitative Aptitude section was the most difficult section. The level of the English section was moderate to difficult. This section was based on new pattern questions and multiple questions on reading comprehension. There were no questions from Number series and simplification topics. The most lengthy section in the exam was the Reasoning and Computer Aptitude section.

General awareness section was the easiest one. Major chunk of the questions was asked from Current Affairs which was based on the news from last 6 months. There were around 4-5 questions from Banking Awareness and 5-6 questions from static GK.
