Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new academic programme, MA degree in Journalism & Mass Communication. It will be available in both Open and Distance Learning mode with a blend of theory and practice. Earlier, the institute only offered PG Diploma course.
The programme will be helpful for those who intend to make a full time career in the print media, radio, television, new media, advertising, public relations, media research and development media sectors. It will be equally relevant for those who are already employed in any of these media and would like to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
Eligibility and fee structure:
To apply for the course, candidates must have Bachelors Degree in any discipline. They should have basic knowledge of word processing. The duration of the programme is two years which can be completed in five years, due to the flexibility of the ODL system. Initially the programme is offered in English medium. The fee is Rs 25,000/ for two years which can be paid in two installments of Rs 12,500/ per year. Candidates who wish to apply for the course can visit the official website of IGNOU i.e. ignou.ac.in.

Indira Gandhi Open University was established in the year 1985. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The university operates in two sessions which are June sessions and January session in an academic year. Candidates can apply for either of the sessions as per their preference.
