The Central Board of Secondary education may declare CBSE 12th results 2017 on Saturday (May 27). According to the sources of CBSE the result will be announced by Saturday evening most probably.

After Delhi High Court has made an order to CBSE regarding its marks policy the board has decided to continue with its five-point moderation policy for this year.

“Results will be declared in light of the High Court’s directions and keeping our declared five-point moderation policy in mind. There will be strictly no spiking of marks and the decision taken in the April meeting will also be followed,” a source said. If not Saturday, the official added, result will certainly be declared by Sunday.

When CBSE 12th results are declared, they will be made available on cbse.nic.in. CBSE has previously conducted the class 10th and 12th board examination in the month of March and April.

Clearing doubts on CBSE Result 2017,  HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said that CBSE will declare the result dates, there is nothing to worry about, no injustice will be meted out to anyone on Thursday.

Earlier there was reports that the Boardwill challenge HC order, but its legal advisers said the process might end up delaying the result announcement significantly.

“It has been decided that the board will not move the court based on the opinion received from the legal counsel and the Additional Solicitor General (ASG). We will carry out moderation based on the rules set (in the examination by laws of CBSE). But no ‘artificial’ spiking of marks will be done,” said a CBSE official.

Latest media report suggests that at a high-level meeting chaired by the minister on Wednesday, it was decided that the Board will take legal opinion before deciding on its future course of action.

"Legal opinion was sought and it was decided that the board may challenge the order and results will be announced on basis of the decision", sources said.

The court had said the decision of the CBSE, which would come into effect from this year, "would have a drastic effect on the students".

It also asked the board why it cannot implement the change in policy from next year as the results of the 2016-17 exams are expected to be announced in a few days. The CBSE along with 32 other boards had decided to do away with the marks moderation policy last month.
