The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday decided to provide compensation of two marks for the typing error in Class X English question paper, conducted on March 12, 2018.

"Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will provide compensation of two marks to Class tenth students for a typing error in the English question paper," ANI reported.

Earlier, on March 19, CBSE assured that it will look into the matter before finalising the marking scheme, that has to be set by an expert committee.

Teachers and students have been accusing of certain errors in the comprehension passage section ever since the paper took place on March 12.

According to reports, there was a misprint or typo error in the third question of Passage 2 of Section A in CBSE Class X English examination.

"Evaluation is a very secretive process. Though the marking policy is always decided keeping the interests of students in mind, but an expert committee examines whether it is an error in the first place or not and how students' interest can be safeguarded," NDTV quoted a senior CBSE official.
