Raipur:
Girls outperformed boys in the Secondary School Certificate examination in Chhattisgarh. The results of were declared on Friday.
The passing percentage for girls stood at 62.06 as compared to 59.86 for boys.
School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap announced the results of the Class X examination, conducted by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE).
As many as 3,95,338 students had registered for the exam of which 3,86,349, including 2,07,349 girls, appeared. Of these, 2,35,773, or 61.04 per cent, cleared the exam, Kashyap said.
With 98.17 per cent, Chetan Agrawal of Kiran Public Higher Secondary School?Kurud, (Dhamtari district) secured the top position. Vinita Patel, of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Higher Secondary School at Masturi in Bilaspur district, secured the second rank with 97.67 per cent marks.
Karan Sahu of Government HS School Guma (Raipur), Dewashish Patel of SS Kalibadi School (Raipur) and Aman Kumar of Mohit HS School Katekoni Khurd (Janjgir-Champa) all bagged third position with 97.33 per cent.
